Lake Alexandrina is located in South Australia and is monitored by the state water authority (SA Water). The forecasts are generated in collaboration with Matt Hipsey’s research group at the University of Western Australia.
The most recent forecast is from 2024-11-19 19:00:00 (Eastern U.S. time).
Experimental forecast for the Lake Alexandrina, developed in collaboration between the Center for Ecosystem Forecasting at Virginia Tech and the Aquatic EcoDynamics Research Group at the University of Western Australia. The top figures show water temperature forecasts for 1 to 35 days into the future for 0.5 m and 5 m depth. The black line shows the median water temperature forecast, with the blue shared area encompassing the 90% predictive intervals. The bottom figure shows the percent chance of the waterbody mixing between 0.5 and 5 m, determined by a 0.1 g/cm3 density gradient.
